Ethan Frome Chunk 1 Chapters: 1-3

Ethan frome, so far one of my favorite books, it was realy discriptive in detail. I felt if i was the narrator telling this story to some one. Well Ethan Frome is poor man living with his wife Zeena (in Starkfield) whom is severly sick. He wanted to be an engineer but instead he stayed in Starkfield becouse of family problems. Ethan seems like a tough guy. but very silent, very known, and respected, jeoulesed, straightforward, and realy responsible. He approaches the complications of his love towards Mattie, Zeenas cousin and also her assistance in the house. Ethan is not only merried to Zeena but he then becomes in love with Mattie, and makes belife that Ethan and Mattie are a merried couple. It is somewhat like a wierd romantic novel but true.

Ethan went to pick up Matie at a dance from church. He spies on her before picking her up and sees her an Eady dancing together. He then beecomes jealous and realizes that Mattie gives this affection towards Ethan. Ethan thinks that becouse of Zeenas illness she will not notice anything strange about him, unfortunaly for Ethan he was wrong. She noticed that he shaved. And Ethan doesnt shave that often. Mattie does not want anything with Eadt, but she does with Ethan. And so Ethan feels really happy that Mattie chose him over Eady. Its crazy that in life if youre merried meaning all the love you have will only go to your wife, that there will be no other woman to share it, but here Ethan shares his love to Mattie well not yet but it seems that they will bit be happy. But to take in mind that Zeena is still out there gives Ethan the "CHILLS". So then they walk towards the farmhouse through this dark shadowing cold snow and they walk like a couple, holding hands, and putinf his arm over her. There all happy but then they reach to the house and Zeena opens the door and Ethan is shocked. Basiccally Ethan is cheating his wife, i mean its not right to do that but if he doesnt feel a love connection with Zeena well he then has to find someone else to cheer him up, in that case Mattie does cheer him up in fact Mattie brings this life, and awakening in the house. Ethan is like a very silent guy througout the text, as a matter of fact everyone is silent throughout the text. Towards the end Zeena is packed and plans to go to a place in order to see a doctor. Then Eathn realizes that he will be alone one night with Mattie so he makes this excuse to not take her in order to stay with Mattie. It worked and now they are together for just one night, one precious night.

Why does Ethan prefer Mattie then Zeena?

Can love be shared with another woman even if you are merried?

Can jeoulousy determine your affection to someone?

Winter "Break" Assignments?

As of now we should know that winter break is the most stress full break off all breaks of the year. It is the time of the year that we get 3 times the work form school work wich depends on the grade level and type of class. I ask myself what happened to the christmas spirit of enjoying our winter break and actually have a winter "break" not winter break assignments. But thats cool with me it lets me be on task and not slack around. Its better than not doing anything. There's some strengths and weaknesses from these winter "breaks" assignment's. The weaknesses will be that it takes most of our winter "break" and we don't get to enjoy our little vacation. In the other hand it helps us exercise our minds, and gain more knowledge, like i said its better than not doing anything, in my perspective these winter break assignments test us how responsible are we and hope me mange time. However "it is the most stressful time of the year" not realy.

"How Soccer Explains The World" Chunk #3 ch. 8-10

The unlikely theory of globalization "How soccer explains the world", by Franklin Foer, tells us in such detail The Discreet Charm of Bourgeois Nationalism, Islams Hope and American Culture Wars... It focuses on FC Barcelona, Foers favorite team. Foer even tells us the mottoe for Barcelona "mas que un club" meaning more than just a club. "I agree. It's more than a club; it's one of God's greatest gifts to leisure time" says Foer. IN the last chapter Foer exposes the hysterical talk show hosts and old-school sportswriters who ridicule a game they've never understood. And says "They feel like America is being bludgeoned over the head with globalization" which i do agree. Even so soccer may not be a "sport" for America just like Foer says and quotes the Conservative congressman that "I think it is important for all those young out there, who someday hope to play real football, where you throw it and kick it and run with it and put it in your hands, a distinction should be made that football is democratic, capitalism, whereas soccer is a European socialist "sport"." So know Franklin Foer had explored the globalization and transnational capitalism and how they're both intertwined with the world's most popular sport in How Soccer Explains the World: An Unlikely Theory of Globalization..

Why does America loves soccer more than before?

Will Foer be able to convince people with this novel?
